The Last Supper...in Portugal

So Karen, Duane and I are at our accommodation in Porto. It is called 'A Room by the Airport' and it is just that, a room - well two rooms actually - in a house close to the airport.  Our host, Laura, is a lovely, friendly Portuguese woman. She picked us up at the airport after we dropped off the rental car late this afternoon. (Yahoo! No more rental cars.)

The room is very well supplied including a complimentary bottle of wine! On Laura's recommendation we walked to a restaurant a couple of blocks away for supper.  It was the best meal we've had in Portugal. Laura described it as 'fillet mignon on a spit'

In fact, we had quite the feast with some roasted veal, potatoes, rice, beans, mushrooms, and even some vegetables - fried cabbage with peas!

Last night we had the second best supper we've had and thought that was our final hurrah, so tonight's feast was a bonus!

Soon we will be heading home. Duane leaves early in the morning; he's being picked up at 4:20! Karen and I will have a more leisurely morning and heading to the airport around 10:00. It's hard to believe that we will be home and sleeping in our own beds tomorrow night.
